Fundación TECHO is committed to respecting your privacy and your personal data in accordance with Law No. 19,628 on the protection of privacy. Through this Privacy Policy, we aim to provide you with relevant information about your data.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use and register on the website techo and/or all websites registered under the domain techo and/or its subdomains (the “Websites”).

Important for Minors: If you are under 18 years of age, please note that your legal representative must authorize us to process your personal data. By registering on our websites—whether as a volunteer, member, or candidate for a position— TECHO that:

  • The legal representatives of users under the age of 18 have given their express consent for TECHO process their personal data.

1. OBJECTIVES OF OUR PRIVACY POLICY

  • The information you provide to us when you register as a member and when you update your information on our websites—such as your name, ID number, phone number, email address, etc.

  • The information you provide to us in order to apply for a position at Techo you register and update your information on our Websites—such as your name, national ID number, phone number, email address, profession, languages, work experience, and any other information contained in your resume when you upload it to our Websites.

  • The information you provide when you contact us through our customer service hotline, by email, or through other means of communication, such as your name, the date and time of contact, your ID number, phone number, etc.

  • Specific information provided by the device you use to connect to our Websites, such as the type of device, your activity on our Websites, the device’s specifications, your operating system and web browser, language, your network device identifier, or your IP address, among other things.
 
To collect this information, we may use cookies or similar technologies (if you are not familiar with the concept of cookies, we recommend that you read the section we have included on this topic, later in section 6).
We use the data we collect to:

  • Coordinate and carry out the social assistance activities and events organized TECHO require the help and collaboration of volunteers. This includes liaising with volunteers and compiling the statistics necessary to carry out social assistance operations.
  • Take all necessary measures to ensure that our volunteers can carry out their social assistance activities properly and safely.
  • To address any health needs our volunteers may have that arise during an activity, to the best of our ability, until a qualified professional arrives.
  • To evaluate and analyze the proper functioning of our websites by, for example, conducting statistical studies on the frequency and times of visits to our websites.
  • Adopt measures that enable TECHO to TECHO strategies aimed at increasing the number of people interested in its volunteer activities.
  • Provide our users with information about social welfare activities and events that may be of interest to them.
  • To respond to all requests and inquiries we receive from users and to be able to communicate with them.
  • Coordinate and carry out the application processes for positions at TECHO, including follow-up with applicants.
  • Carry out all activities related to the management and coordination of our members' contributions in order to carry out our social assistance activities.

Please be advised that TECHO will TECHO disclose or share your collected personal data with third parties unless you have expressly authorized such disclosure or it falls under one of the cases set forth in this Privacy Policy, as detailed below:

a) Third parties to whom we may transfer your personal data.
In order to carry out our social assistance activities, we may need the assistance of subsidiaries or affiliates of TECHO, which will process your personal data on our behalf, following our instructions, in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, and by adopting appropriate security and confidentiality measures for the processing of the data.

b) Special cases in which we may transfer your personal data to third parties.

In certain special cases, limited to those listed below, we may share your personal data with third parties if we believe, in good faith, that there is a reasonable need to access, use, retain, or disclose such data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to any requests for information we receive from a competent administrative, judicial, or investigative body and, in general, to cooperate in the investigation of possible illegal activities.
  • To comply with a requirement or obligation established in current legislation, sector-specific regulations, or applicable rules.
  • To detect, prevent, or otherwise address any fraud, vulnerability, or technical or security issue that affects the stability, operation, and security of our Website.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of TECHO, our users, our volunteers, or the general public, to the extent required or permitted by law.
 
Both TECHO servers TECHO those of the third parties listed in this section may be located outside of Chile.
 
Please note that by using our Websites, you expressly agree that your personal data and other information collected in accordance with this Privacy Policy may be processed on servers located outside Chile or by individuals located outside the country.
In accordance with Article 12 of Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Privacy, you have the right to request information from us regarding the personal data we have collected about you. You may also request that we correct your personal data if it is erroneous, inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete; or that we delete or block it if you so desire.
 
Without prejudice to these rights, you will always have the option to:
 
  • Choose to stop receiving information about our events or activities.
  • Choose to change or modify the information you provided when you registered on the Websites.
  • Choose not to receive or accept cookies or other similar technologies. Please note that to do so, you must disable them on each device you use by following the instructions provided by your web browser.
 
You can exercise these rights and options at no cost to you by sending us a request via email to techo.
 
In response to a request to delete your personal data, we will delete the data we have collected up to the date you made the request, but we will not prevent the future collection of data after that date if you use our Websites again and register on them in the future. In the latter case, you will need to submit a new request to delete the new personal data we have collected.
