As part of the “Jóvenes Construyendo Latinoamérica” Urban Month campaign, TECHO the Urban Thinkers Campusfrom October 2 to 4—a space that reflects the organization’s commitment to linking housing and climate change, empowering young people, and seeking housing and habitat solutions for a more equitable and resilient future.
TECHO firsthand experience of the impact of climate change on low-income communities, where extreme temperatures and natural disasters exacerbate their vulnerability. For this reason, in 2024, the “Més Urbano” campaign “Youth Building Latin America” encourages young people to innovate and forge paths toward building the future we want—the future we need today.
That is why the Urban Thinkers Campus aims to provide spaces to discuss these effects of climate change and gather ideas from young Latin Americans on climate-resilient housing.

The Campus, the New Urban Agenda, and the SDGs
Our Campus promotes the UN’s vision of creating safe, inclusive, and sustainable cities, focusing on emergency housing solutions that are more resilient to climate change. We engage young people in the co-creation of housing solutions, promoting civic participation and housing justice. We contribute to the SDGs, particularly Goal 11 (sustainable cities), Goal 13 (climate action), and Goal 17 (partnerships for the goals), working collaboratively with various stakeholders to advance sustainable urban development.
