En la víspera de la apertura del torneo del Sony Open Tennis, jugadores de tenis de clase mundial se unirán a TECHO para generar conciencia y recaudar fondos para apoyar a las familias que viven en los asentamientos de América Latina. El evento se realizará el miércoles 20 de marzo a las 9 PM, en el GRAND BAY CLUB (425 Grand Bay Dr. Key Biscayne, FL 33149).
Los tenistas que apoyarán la cuarta edición de BreakPoint son Willy Cañas (Argentina, clasificado entre los mejores del mundo 10 jugadores durante su carrera), Santiago Giraldo (Colombia), Alejandro Falla (Colombia), Juan «»Pico»» Mónaco (Argentina) y Andy Murray (Escocia, actualmente clasificado como N ° 3 del mundo).
Entre los patrocinadores del evento se encuentran: Goldman Sachs, LATAM Airlines Group y Novecento. Más de 350 personas se espera que asistan, y el objetivo es recaudar 230.000 dólares, que se utilizarán para fortalacer el trabajo en la promoción del desarrollo comunitario que realizan pobladores y voluntarios, en especial en proyectos que buscar mejorar la calidad habitacional de las familias que viven en asentamientos (115 viviendas de emergencia en toda América Latina). El costo de cada tabla es equivalente al costo promedio de una vivienda (USD 2.000).
BreakPoint es una divertida cena de recaudación de fondos organizada por TECHO en la que se reúnen a tenistas de renombre mundial con empresarios y líderes de la comunidad de Miami con el objetivo de generar conciencia sobre la situación de pobreza en la que viven millones de familias en América Latina. Ilia Calderón de Univision y Felipe Viel, anfitrión Esta Noche Tu Night, serán los anfitriones del evento.

World-ranked tennis players that have pledged their support thus far to the fourth Edition of BreakPoint include Willy Cañas (Argentina, ranked among the world’s top 10 players during his career), Santiago Giraldo (Colombia), Alejandro Falla (Colombia), Juan “Pico” Mónaco (Argentina), and Andy Murray (Scotland, currently ranked as N°3 in the world).
Sponsors for this year’s Breakpoint event include Goldman Sachs, LATAM Airlines Group y Novecento.
