The clean areas project, in Coquimbo, consists of different initiatives to improve the environment of the communities we work with, including cleanup and space recovery. This project was funded by the Coquimbo Regional Government Fund for the Environment.
The first clean area we worked on was in Coquimbo’s Anita Lizana settlement (which we shared in RRSS), where we’ve been working for about five years. We do not have a social file, but we do have a diagnosis and problem checklist. Twenty-eight families live in this settlement.
This was the first of six clean areas we will address in the region. This Sunday we will work at Quebrada Las Rosas settlement, and afterwards, in the Desierto Florido, Tierra Añañucas, Los Changos, and Sol del Pacífico settlements.
At Quebrada Las Rosas there are 40 families and 12 volunteers that participated on the activity. The Chile team has been working at the community since last year.
