Donald is a young Haitian man full of dreams and a deep desire to contribute to the development of his community. From a very young age, he always imagined being able to do something meaningful for his people, but although his motivation was immense, he felt he lacked the necessary tools to take the initiative and pass on that knowledge he so longed to share. The idea of teaching and sharing what he knew—of being able to bring about real change—gave him strength, but it seemed like a distant dream.
Everything changed the day he discovered TECHO. By joining this organization, Donald found the opportunity he had been searching for: a place where he could learn something new that would not only enrich his life but also allow him to share with his community. The macramé workshops were his gateway to a whole new world. More than just a craft, macramé gave him a renewed passion and, over time, became a way to earn an income and pass on new skills to others.
Inspired by everything he had learned, Donald soon committed himself to bringing that knowledge to his community. He decided that he didn’t just want to be a learner, but also an agent of change, and volunteered at TECHO with the firm intention of sharing what he had discovered. Through the macramé workshops, he found the perfect opportunity to teach others and, in turn, make a positive impact on his community.
As the workshops gained momentum, Donald saw his small venture transform into something much bigger: a catalyst for change that not only impacted those who participated but also motivated him to continue growing and learning.
