Los competidores, favoritos en el torneo de Viña del Mar, se unieron pintando un mural que simboliza el trabajo de TECHO por superar la pobreza en asentamientos.
El tenista italiano Fabio Fognini sumó sus esfuerzos a la organización TECHO que está presente en el torneo. El italiano, número 15 del ranking Emirates ATP, se dio un tiempo en sus preparativos dentro del torneo para compartir junto a los voluntarios de la organización e inaugurar un cuadro colectivo que montamos a un costado del Court Central.
“Para mí es muy importante poder colaborar como deportista a una causa como TECHO. Hoy fue la primera vez, pero me emociona mucho participar”, declaró una vez terminada la actividad.
Por su parte, el tenista español Nicolás Almagro, número 18 del Emirates ATP y otro de los favoritos del torneo de Viña, también sumó su voluntad como para superar la pobreza.
“Creo que todo deportista profesional debe aportar su granito de arena para que la gente vea que también somos de carne y hueso y conscientes de los problemas que tenemos en la actualidad”, sostuvo.
El panel intervenido por los tenistas, simboliza el trabajo comunitario que TECHOrealiza en campamentos, centrado en la promoción de la organización comunitaria a través programas que desarrollen liderazgo, educación, trabajo, vivienda y salud.
“Con esta actividad, TECHO busca simbolizar el esfuerzo que los pobladores y los voluntarios realizan juntos como equipo para superar los distintos desafíos que se les presentan dentro de los asentamientos en los que trabajamos”, explicó Agustín Wolff, director social de TECHO.
A esta actividad se sumará una clínica de tenis para niños y niñas en el centro deportivo del campamento Miraflores Alto de Valparaíso, el jueves 6 de febrero, donde participarán diversos tenistas.

On his behalf, the Spanish tennis player Nicolas Almagro, 18th in the ATP Emirates ranking and another favorite of the tournament in Viña, also added his will as an athlete to overcome poverty.
“In my opinion, each professional sports person has the duty to contribute with a molehill so people can realize we are aware of the current worldwide challenges,»» Almagro said.
The panel intervened by the players, symbolized the community work performed by TECHO in the human settlements, focused in the promotion of community work through programs such as training courses for community leaders, literacy, education, housing and health.
«»With the following activity, TECHO seeks to symbolize the effort that the slums residents and volunteers perform together as a team to overcome the different challenges that they face in the slums in which we are present,»» said Augustine Wolff, Director of Social programs of TECHO.
This activity will join the tennis clinic for children in the sports center of the slum «»Alto Miraflores in Valparaiso»», where various tennis players will participate.
