TECHO Built in El Salvador

On October 12-15 a team of 10 US volunteers traveled to El Salvador, to build 10 homes at La Aguja. These homes were donated by Concierge Auctions, through our charity partner Give Back Homes. The build at this community is the first one being sponsored by our partners who are committed to build a home for each and every family that lives in this community.

TECHO arrived at the community by special request from the community leaders. During the summer, the community leaders sent out a letter to the mayor, requesting support as a single mother of two small children was diagnosed with cancer, and she needed a safer place to live. The mayor’s office received the letter and forwarded it to TECHO.

TECHO visited the community and raised the funds to build Xiomara’s home. Unfortunately, she passed away a few days before the build begun. However, her legacy lives on. After her home was built for her children, we committed ourselves to keep on working with the community members, to ensure that all the families have a safer place to call home. We are very honored to be partners with such a resilient, and united community. In addition, we are very grateful to count on the support form our donors and supporters to make sure deserving families receive a home.
