Entre el 14 y el 16 de abril, TECHO está participando del 2do Comité Preparatorio hacia la Conferencia Hábitat III, en Nairobi, Kenia.
Durante el evento preparatorio en Kenia hacia Hábitat III, TECHO visibilizará parte de las iniciativas que la institución lidera en la región con el objetivo de superar la pobreza y la desigualdad en los 19 países con los que trabaja en Latinoamérica.
Dentro de las experiencias que compartirá, se encuentran:
1- Investigaciones catastrales sobre la cantidad de asentamientos en una zona determinada. En este sentido, se presentarán resultados del trabajo en Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica y Nicaragua y los avances de estas investigaciones en Paraguay y Colombia.
2- Experiencias de trabajo comunitario en asentamientos informales con enfoque de desarrollo de hábitat en el Cono Sur: Argentina, Uruguay y Chile.
“En este gran hito buscamos visibilizar a los asentamientos informales como espacios de vulneración de derechos ante Gobiernos, Organismos Internacionales, Organizaciones Sociales. También queremos recalcar que en los asentamientos existen ideas y capacidades para generar propuestas participativas de inclusión y justicia a nivel local, regional y global” afirmó Agustín Algorta, Director Social de TECHO.
TECHO es la única OSC de Latinoamérica presente en los espacios de exhibición de experiencias y prácticas, que se desarrollará en el marco del evento. En 2016, la Conferencia de Hábitar III se llevará por primera vez en Latinoamérica, con sede en Quito, Ecuador.

Between April 14-16th, TECHO will take part on the 2nd preparatory committee, before the summit Habitat III is held in Nairobi, Kenya.
During the preliminary event in Kenya before Habitat III, TECHO will present part of the initiatives that the institution leads around the region, with the goal of overcoming poverty and inequality in the 19 countries in which it works in Latin America.
The following are some of the experiences that will be shared:
1 – Cadastral investigations regarding the amount of slums at a specific regional area. The studies presented will be the results obtained from their research carried out in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Their advances regarding investigations in Paraguay and Colombia will be presented as well.
2 – Slum community work experiences, focused on the development of habitat in the south of Latin America: Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

TECHO is the only organization of Latin America present in the experience sharing areas and workshops that will be held at the event. In 2016, the Conference of Habitat III will take place in Latin America for the first time in history in Quito, Ecuador.
