#SETTLEMENTS: A STORY WORTHY OF AN OSCAR

There's one month to go until the most important awards ceremony in the world of cinema: the Oscars, an occasion to recognize the best stories and the hard work and talent of their stars.

One story worthy of recognition is #ASENTAMIENTOS, a film starring 104 million people who face epic challenges every day, such as getting to school:

Today, on International Education Day, we want to highlight the role of Kevin, Paloma, and Geremías (the protagonists of this video) and that of nearly 3 million* children in Latin America who face dozens of obstacles in getting to school and accessing education—due to the geographical isolation of the places where they live, as well as a lack of financial resources, physical infrastructure, or transportation, among other factors. This reality is more stark than fiction and is particularly acute in the Asentamientos Populares.
